I’ve raved about Liquid IV before and I’m here to do it again. Basically, it’s an adult way to stay hydrated, and single-use electrolyte drink mix packets are easy to keep in your purse, carry-on, or backpack. When you need a hydration boost, simply empty the mix into water and voila.
I’ve been traveling like crazy this summer, and the first thing I do when I’m about to board a flight is buy some water and pour one of these babies into it. It’s the easiest way to stay hydrated on long flights where you might not be able to gulp down as much water as you normally do. For me, staying hydrated usually makes all the difference in catching a cold while traveling, and there’s definitely science to back it up. And now that I’m home and planning to be put down for a while, I’ve been using it to refuel after sweaty workouts (hello Barry’s Bootcamp!) and recover in the morning after having late night cocktails on my favorite rooftop bar.

Sugar Free White Peach Liquid IV
Even though I’ve been using Liquid IV for years, I’ve never been a fan of consuming sugar. I feel like I can literally taste it in so many foods and drinks, and I have such an aversion to it. But this summer, Liquid IV launched its new zero-sugar line that’s sweetened with stevia leaf extract, and I couldn’t be happier. The three sugar-free flavors include White Peach, Lemon Lime (my favorite), and Green Grape. It’s also completely vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free.
So how exactly does a hydration booster work? Long story short, it adds electrolytes and other healthy ingredients to your water that help you stave off and quench your thirst. Electrolytes are essentially just minerals like calcium, sodium, and potassium that help your body absorb water where it needs it most. Sure, sipping water during the day is great, but ingesting electrolytes to stay hydrated is necessary, especially if you spend a lot of time in the sun, exercise longer than 90 minutes, nurse a hangover, or visit somewhere with high altitudes.
Lemon Lime Liquid IV Without Sugar
Since Liquid IV also contains vitamins C, B6 and B12, it will help your body recover from dehydration faster and is overall a great idea for maintaining well-being. (Be sure to chat with your doctor before trying supplements or hydration boosters if you’re concerned it may interact with other medications you’re taking.)
I recently used this after a 50 minute HIIT workout class and didn’t get that completely drained feeling I generally get when I finally get home to shower. I felt constantly energized from the moment I finished my class until later in the day when it was time to unwind. It also saved me when I had to be up for a 9am meeting after a late night of sipping cocktails.
TLDR; it will be so helpful to keep some of these Liquid IV packs in your purse this summer so you can use them anytime, anywhere. (Or better yet, sign up and save so you never run out!) You never know when a last-minute trip to the pool or a night of staying up all night dancing and sweating is in order. Trust me, this is going to be your essential sugar-free summer companion.
